Steven
G. Horneffer is a former Assistant State Attorney who handled a wide
variety of misdemeanor and felony offenses while prosecuting in Eighteenth
Circuit in Seminole County, Florida from 1978-1982. He is licensed
to practice law in all state courts in Florida, as well as many Federal
Courts, having represented clients in the United States Court of Appeals
for the Fifth Circuit, United States District Court for the Middle
District of Florida, the United States District Court for the Southern
District of Georgia, the United States District Court for the District
of Massachusetts, and the United States District Court for the District
of Arizona. Mr. Horneffer is Board Certified in Criminal Trial Law
by the Florida Bar Association Board of Legal Specialization and Education
(since 1990.) Fewer than 5% of lawyers are Board Certified, a process
which involves focused experience (at least 25 trials), intensive
testing and peer review. In addition to being Board Certified in Criminal Trial Law, Mr. Horneffer also stays on top of trends in criminal law through his involvement with the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (Director), the Central Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers Association (Chapter Representative), the Florida Bar Association, the Criminal Law Section of the Florida Bar, and the National College of DUI Defense. Since 1978 Mr. Horneffer has practiced almost exclusively in criminal defense, representing clients accused of everything from first degree murder to traffic offenses. |
